“Communication encompasses a great deal of human (and) animal activity, reading, writing, listening, speaking and viewing images, are all acts of communication” (Croft, 2004, p. 1) . Gender differences need not lead to resentment, in my workplace there are few men, collections is a verbal talent that most men choose not to conquer. “Research indicates men and women are socialized differently and consequently, have diverse styles of speaking” (Stern, 2004, p. 1). Women often accuse men of not listening, whereas men accuse women of speaking continuously.
Many theories developed assist in terms of families, caregivers, patients, and coworkers. These guides are models in our daily lives that give an ideal of what development we should incorporate to understand those around us. Cognitive dissonance theory, communication accommodation theory, coordinated management of meaning, cultivation analysis, and many more theories are on the rise as we advance communication. Cognitive theory, argues that incompatible beliefs are inevitable and people are prone to avoid issues. Communication accommodation theory is adjusting styles of speaking to meet the styles of others. Coordinated management of meaning, states we have the ability to organize in our minds millions of messages a day, whereas cultivation analysis argues that heavy television viewing shapes a more violent world than warranted.

Usage of social media has become the part of our everyday life. Social media has become the necessary and unavoidable part of our routine. We use internet, websites, social networks, television and other means of social media everyday very frequently. The social media is designed in a way that it attracts and draws our attention immediately towards itself. We are mesmerized by social media. Our daily life activities are linked with social media’s affects. We use social media for number of purposes. We use it for research purpose, to gather information, to communicate with others, to run our official works; our opinions are influenced by media. In short social media has become a vital part of our lives and some people even find it to live or stay happy is very difficult without social media.
The affects produced by the social media are very frequent and important. The websites that are offering any interaction among the different people comes under the category of social media. Social media is offering lot of entertainment activities like, face book, twitter, Gmail, linked in, MySpace, Whatsapp etc. The impacts these websites or modes of interaction are important because they are playing an important role in shaping our behaviors. They are affecting our relationships and the importance of relationships in one’s life. It is badly affecting the relation of children with their parents and other family members. Most of the time, youngsters seem to be busy in using the social networks and they do not find time for their family and siblings. They spend a lot of time in enjoying, doing gossips with the online friends and uploading fun pictures and statuses but they do not pay any heed toward their family. They do not find any time to talk to their family. Family communication level reaches up to almost zero. Social media has trapped people so strongly that their all day routine is being set and scheduled according to the social networking programs. They had described and preset their activities and they do not find any space to communicate with their family members. The language or the symbolism being used in social media is exclusively understandable by its users only, so it has become very difficult to communicate your emotional attachment to your family.
The revolution in social media has brought drastic changes to family life and children tend to know more about their friends than their parents and siblings.
