Provide the following discussion based on the conclusion of your test: If you conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in a bottle of soda, speculate on three (3) possible causes. Next, suggest the strategies to avoid the deficit in the future.

I conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in some of the bottles of soda. Some causes that may contribute to the issues may include a mechanical defect with the company’s equipment, employees failed to notice or inspect the bottles before packaging, or the product evaporates or goes flat after a period time has passed. As manager, I recommend that there will be a monthly maintenance check on the equipment and documented. Also, employees will be monitored in how thorough the product is inspected before leaving the assembly line and packaged. Lastly, I will stress to consumers of the possibility that the product may have experienced evaporation and gone flat depending on how long it stays on the shelf unopened.

In this essay I will discern the information, as show below, to determine if the Bottle Company is producing a product with less than 16 ounces of soda. Additionally, I will construct a 95% confidence interval and conduct a hypothesis test to determine if the claim that the bottles contain less than 16 ounces of soda. First it is import to determine the mean, median and standard deviation. The mean is determined by dividing the total ounces by the number of bottles (446.1/30). I have carried out the answer by two decimal places. Since this was not discussed in our assignment, I assume that this is up to our discretion. I will provide answers that agree with rounding to one decimal place, in addition to the answers I have provided with two decimal places. I calculated the median by using the excel function (=median). However, this can be calculated by simply adding the mean twice and dividing by two (14.87+14.87/2). The standard deviation was calculated by using the excel function (=stdev.s). I chose s based on this problem is a sample of a population.
